An update! weee!

Mostly photos from my phone that I haven't had a chance to update in the last few months. Here's one of the dad's and girls on the way out of the gym from swimming. That's "Emma friend"--one of Mirah's best friends who's close in age but totally different personality.
Mirah has decided that we only get to shop at stores that have either the mini-shopping carts like this one (at Whole Foods) or the ones where she can "drive" that have the steering wheels (and are consequently impossible to steer for mom. Too bad those steering wheels don't actually DO anything!)

Here's Mirah and Eli eating peaches out at the farm where we picked them a few weeks back. And the best part, it was only maybe 80 degrees when we got there, with a breeze! And of course they were yummy too. We made cobbler, smoothies, ate a bunch raw of course, and ice cream!! As Grandmommy says, "Delicious!"
A shot out the window in Mississippi on our way back from a visit to my folks at the end of June. Mirah got to ride the horse with me, and swing and generally visit Grandma Hass and Papa Horn, and I got to go see the International Ballet Competition gala. Jeff got to, well, drive most of the way, and we appreciate it!! :)
Here's just a shot of us.
Here's a day when she decided she needed to wear the fairy tutu over the top of the dress, and then cover herself with all the stickers the cashier gave her from Trader Joes!
And here she tried to squeeze herself back into a frog costume that's size 3-6 mos, I think!
And when they say "accessories are everything" I don't think this is what they had in mind! :)

Mirah's first protest march! Save the arts! (we sort of convinced our
legislators, well, the Georgia Councilbfor the Arts wasn't cut to zero
at least)

Happy Spring!

Here's a picture in the dress Grandma Karen gave us. A little squinty face from all the sun up on the roof, but it was a pretty morning. :)

Here's Mirah helping out with the handful of plants I got ambitious enough to put on the roof this year. Not as much as I used to have, but at least some herbs and a strawberry plant! :)
(And the nice dress was taken off so she could actually grab handfuls of dirt just after this photo!)

And here we are dying eggs! It was a MESS of course, but fun. I couldn't spend the time I wanted to get creative with them, but she only cracked one or two and we have a bunch of pretty colored eggs in the fridge now nonetheless and even better, she ate one for supper! So if she'll keep eating them, we've got lunch for a couple days anyway.

General cuteness

So this is Mirah in a dressy dress for Dada's birthday dinner (the grimace is what we get when we tell her to smile for photos...just like my dad does--how is THAT genetic?)

Here's a very bean-y baby! (She actually avoided her shirt in large part, quite impressive! But there's the grimace/grin again!)

And here's the clean up, she's taking baths in the big tub now!! Which is good, because we were about to have to invest in the ducky tub company (the cat had destroyed, was it 3 or 4 of them? at least they were only around 10 bucks each.)

Happy Birthday, Jeff!

Jeff finally caught up to me in age (for this half year anyway) and so we'll be old together until I get to be "old" just by myself again.
Mirah also just had her 17 mo birthday on Friday. Almost a year and a half, wow! Today's best word is "fwa fwa" for this morning's waffle. Heehee.

Looong time no post

Yes our lives have been upside down...or maybe that's just Mirah. :) Mostly it was the fact that we traveled like 5 weekends out of the 8 of Nov and Dec. And since then we keep getting sick, passing around colds. It's ok though, spring's coming, right? Right? (And it's supposed to snow again tomorrow? Darn it!) We're lucky we haven't caught the stomach bugs that my sister's had, knock on wood. And maybe why I haven't tried to do this is Mirah is begging to get up (uppa! uppa! uppa! uppa!) in my lap but then she wants to type too, and well, that just doesn't work. So I put her down and the whole thing begins again. Yeah...I'll put in a couple more photos and then it's bath and bedtime for us!

She likes to try to walk in my shoes. And my boots...
And one of all of us, just cause...
